I just wanted to put a page here for Noelle's older sister, Bethany.  Beth visited us for eight days after being born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.  Basically she was born with a broken heart.  She left us two hours after open heart surgery at Boston Children's Hospital after the doctors tried to shunt her heart.  You may recall Baby Fae who received a transplant of a baboon heart at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California on October, 1984.  On the East coast doctors were trying to shunt the heart rather than transplant for this condition.  As our team of doctors told us, at that point in time, it was an art rather than a science trying to sew a shunt into a tiny heart.  They gave it their best try and we gave Beth the best chance we could but it wasn't meant to be.  Noelle knew about her sister and I'm sure they're together now.
